OTRA
is pleased to introduce its first product offering in the document privacy,
security and control area. The A3Control product provides positive
control over electronic documents, providing authentication, authorization
and audit of electronic document access for both server based and client
based documents.
Developed cooperatively with FileOpen Systems, the product integrates
FileOpen's Adobe Acrobat plug-in technology to package documents in
PDF form, with positive access control using either off-line permission
files, or on-line, network based permission control. Documents can be
read in Adobe's free Acrobat reader as well as full featured versions
of Acrobat.
The A3Control server is a java web application which can be installed
in any J2EE compliant application server and used in conjunction with
any compatible web server. The server can be configured to implement a
wide range of permission schemes, and will interface with any JDBC compliant
database for schemes requiring database access.
The following configurations are currently available:
A3Control BE - This basic edition
of the server provides the basic server structure, and a limited
set of service definitions, implemented as java classes. This fully
functional permission server can be used to implement simple document
delivery solutions, or can be used as the basis of more complex projects,
extending the server and data access classes to fit the specific needs
of the publisher. More information about this product can be found by
clicking the product title, or here.
A3Control OLE - The on-line edition of the server provides
a fully hosted, pre-configured version of the permission server and
administrative functions, enabling smaller users access to the powerful
features of the A3Control technology
